Hello from Utah!
The
postcard is of the Bingham Canyon Copper Mine. The mine started 100 years and
is now ¾ mile deep and 2½ miles wide at the top. We will go there for a field trip in the spring. The mine is so big the astronauts can see it from space. The
mountains where the mine is located are very scarred and ugly. The mining company
is learning to be more careful with the earth and they are trying to restore some of the areas back to its natural habitat.
We
live in South
Jordan, which is very near Salt Lake City. If you watched the 2002 Winter Olympics on TV,
you saw pictures of where we live. Utah
is very beautiful and has many different kinds of places to visit – lakes, mountains, rivers, deserts, etc.
Our
troop has seven brownies, one Junior Aide and 2 leaders. We like earning badges,
arts & crafts, science and going on field trips.
Thank
you for trading with us. Happy Thinking Day!
